Data Center Development
Not since the invention of the transistor has any technological advancement come along with as much disruptive capability – and, as much promise - as Artificial Intelligence. The most amazing characteristic of AI, other than its rapid adaption into almost every element of our daily lives, is the fact that the models that make it work improve every second. The world we will inhabit in a decade from now will be a lot different from the one we currently live in. For Artificial Intelligence to live up to this promise, AI must have nearby data centers for the compute and storage functions. The U.S. currently has over 1,700 active data centers across the country, over 350 are currently under construction and more than 700 in the planning stages. Many more will be needed.
Three absolute requirements for any data center:
-
High-speed fiber optic connectivity
-
Abundant/Redundant electric power
-
Water for cooling
Available land can rarely meet these requirements
Concurrent Utility Services has decades of experience at developing the infrastructure to support all three
-
Site development (land clearing, road construction)
-
Construct all underground utility infrastructure including water/sewer and stormwater mitigation
-
Work with fiber providers to extend their network to the site
-
Construct the necessary grid extension to bring power to the site (including substations).
-
Installation of microgrid and backup power systems
